PGAD
Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder — distressing, often misunderstood, and treatable.
What is PGAD?
Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder (PGAD) is a distressing condition characterised by unwanted and uncontrollable genital arousal that is unrelated to sexual desire.
It is poorly understood by many clinicians, which often leaves patients feeling dismissed. Treatment exists, and we will work with you and any other clinicians involved in your care.
Common symptoms

When to see us
If any of these sound familiar, booking a consultation is worth your time.
- →Unwanted, persistent genital sensation or arousal unrelated to sexual desire?
- →Symptoms causing significant emotional distress, anxiety, or sleep disruption?
- →Have struggled to find a clinician who understands the condition?
How we treat it
Pelvic floor therapy addresses muscular and neural contributors that are often part of the picture in PGAD.
Nerve modulation, medication coordination, and CBT are layered in as needed — care is multidisciplinary by design, because PGAD rarely has a single cause.
Mindfulness and stress reduction work supports the nervous-system regulation that is critical for symptom relief over time.
